1. A Wardrobe Gets Used Unevenly

Open any closet and the wear is lopsided. A few pieces come out again and again until the color goes soft at the shoulders, and the rest hang there waiting for an occasion that arrives twice a year. We built Rienmls around the first group. Everything here is chosen on the assumption that it gets worn on a Tuesday, washed on Saturday, and worn again the week after.

That assumption decides what we buy. A seam that holds through forty wash cycles counts for more than a detail that photographs well once, and a fabric that comes out of the machine looking like itself counts for more than one that only behaves while it is new. It rules out a fair amount of what is offered to us, and we are comfortable with that.

2. The Three Questions Behind Every Piece

Nothing gets listed until it has been through the same three checks. None of them are about how the garment looks on a hanger.

• How does the fabric come out of the wash? Washed is the state a casual garment spends most of its life in. Shrinkage, pilling, and color loss across repeated cycles decide whether a piece lasts one season or several.
• Does the fit hold its shape? Casual clothing gives way at the shoulder seam and the waistband before anywhere else. We look at how a garment sits at the end of a full day of wear rather than at the start of one.
• Does the care stay ordinary? Anything needing specialist handling gets left behind. What we stock should come through a normal home wash with nothing unusual attached to it.

3. What Happens Before an Order Ships

Everything we sell is ready-made stocked inventory, held here before it is listed. Nothing goes on the site that is not already on the shelf, which is why an order can be picked the same day it arrives rather than waiting on somebody else’s dispatch schedule.

Each order is pulled by hand and checked against what you actually ordered: the size on the label, the color under daylight rather than under the stockroom bulb, the tags still attached, the seams and the hem intact after however long the piece has been sitting with us. That check is the part we refuse to rush, because a wrong size caught at our table costs nobody anything, while the same mistake caught at your door costs you a week.

When something is not right despite all of that, the fix starts with one email. You write to us, we send a prepaid label back, and the return costs you nothing at any stage. We would rather carry that cost ourselves than have you weighing up postage against keeping something you do not want.
